NaNoWriMo Day 3, and other things
Two things happened this week. Well, there’s been more than two. Let’s take back that first sentence and say three. I could erase that first sentence, but I like lying. All fiction writers are liars.
The first thing that happened is that we delivered another Gothic Blue Book this year, successfully! I run a boutique press, Burial Day Books, and I’ll try not to talk about that too much as the intention of this blog is to talk about my own writing. The summation of Burial Day Books and what I do there will be done another day. For now, go to www.burialday.com if you want to see what I do there.
The second thing that happened is that I’m on the hunt to join a writer’s organization. Why? Because I like writers, some of them. Many can be rude and narcissistic, but many are lovely people. I’m an introvert, and I suppose I can be a rude introvert…maybe blame that on being a Chicagoan. Anyway, I’m going to be submitting my application this week to the Mystery Writers Association. They seem like VERY nice people and they seem like they love their writers and they nurture their writers. Cross your fingers or horns or whatever you’ve got for me. I want to be part of their legion of mysterious writers. Maybe I’ll purchase a quill if I’m accepted.
The third thing is that I’ve started NaNoWriMo. Don’t know what that is? Go here. http://nanowrimo.org/ I’m working on the sequel to my novel with Post Mortem Press, SANTA MUERTE 2. I’m looking forward to finishing it. Right now, I’m really enjoying revisiting my character, Ari. She’s a beautiful and very sad girl. She’s stuck in this really messed up world of witchcraft and crime and I do hope the best for her, but you never know. I will tell you how it’s going over the next few days.
That’s it for now.
